It’s been a fair old return to the Division East following last year’s winning season for our Lincoln whites. An unbeaten season at home, making Ashby Avenue a rock solid fortress for teams to come to. Such a season demands a proper celebration, which is why the folks behind Lincoln United got in contact with Hog Roast Lincoln to cater their final sponsor’s day at Ashby.
This was the final home game of the season, and with an unbeaten record there was a lot on the line for this final visit from North Ferriby. The Hog Roast Lincoln team were delighted to be asked to attend the game. We’re locals ourselves, so getting to join for such a historic local celebration was a massive privilege. Unfortunately the weather and the match were rather drab, but a 0-0 draw was all that was needed to confirm the unbeaten home season regardless, meaning the sponsor celebrations could then carry on in the right festive spirit.
If the match was drab, our hog roast dining certainly was not. The Hog Roast Lincoln team will be taking in the Player of the Match plaudits for this one, we reckon, as sponsors and United staff tucked in excitedly to their hog roast rolls, stuffing, crackling, grilled veg and halloumi skewers, and creamy coleslaw. The club chairman even came forward to offer the Hog Roast Lincoln catering team an open invite to return at any time again. We’ll certainly be looking to take up that offer next season with hopefully another unbeaten home run to look forward to – and maybe even a division championship…
In the meantime, we truly enjoyed this excellent party to close out the home season. With the unbeaten home season fully confirmed, everyone was in great spirits with more than a few cheeky pints raised in toast. All focuses now return to the coming weekend with one final game to play away to Ashington. The entire Hog Roast Lincoln team will be cheering the boys on from afar, as we head out to our own events this coming weekend, too.
