As a business and brand the Hog Roast Louth name has been out there for the better part of three decades. The Spitting Pig brand has managed to endure through thirty years of events, catering through highs and lows in the industry in all that time. As far as our time in the industry goes, we reckon ourselves pretty good veterans by this point.
But our thirty years as a business pales in comparison to the whopping 58 years that one single employee at Luxus Ltd has put in. This is someone who we only recently learned about, having been invited along by Luxus last week to cater for their very special retirement send-off after 58 years of hard-earned service. Even just hearing the story, the Hog Roast Louth team simply could not turn down the invite.
We knew going in that this would likely be an event with a tonne of emotion. When you have someone that has put that much time into one place then there are always going to be plenty of people lining up to show their gratitude and well wishes. It was stories galore for an incredible individual who exhibits the very best of all of us. To put 58 years into one career, let alone one business, is something that you seldom see these days. An old-school way of working, one that is more and more rare as loyalty becomes harder to come by. At Hog Roast Louth, we take a tonne of inspiration from such dedication to your work. We’ll hope to replicate going forward until we too can say we have put nearly 6 decades of work in.
A great send-off requires an equally great meal, and fortunately that is where Hog Roast Louth can excel. Our classic hog roast dining experience was just the thing to make this send-off all the more special. Glorious crisp and tender pork served with sage and onion stuffing, crispy crackling, fresh apple sauce, mixed salad, creamy slaw, grilled veg and halloumi skewers, and plenty of bread rolls and wraps.
