What’s better than one celebration with quality catering? Two!
Over a hot bank holiday weekend across all of England, the Hog Roast Grimsby team turned the heat up some more at a local event for Grimsby resident Mandy and her husband Adrian. With a bank holiday weekend and some sun to enjoy, what better a moment to host a double celebration for your 40th birthday and your wedding anniversary. Bringing the two celebrations together, Mandy and Adrian played host for 75 of their friends and family over the bank holiday, and just to up the ante even more, they also invited the stylish southern slow roast catering of Hog Roast Grimsby.
Yes, as if it wasn’t hot enough in the heatwave, the Hog Roast Grimsby team also provided some sizzling spicy and smoky serves for the party to enjoy. Our southern slow roast menu comes all the way from the US and the barbecue style of the American southern states. This style favours a lot more spice rubs and smoky barbecue marinades than we typically enjoy in our own classic British barbecue. It’s all about smoked meats and slow roasting over many hours. As those states are also well known for their sweltering heat in the summer, we figured it had to be a good choice for a record breaking May heatwave here, too.
Our slow roast menu therefore consisted of the following: pulled quarter of minted lamb, sticky BBQ pork butt, our 24 hour slow roasted Texan style beef brisket, grilled veg and halloumi skewers with tzatziki dip and sweet chilli sauce for a cooling veggie alternative, and sides of our cooling creamy slaw, corn cobettes with butter, a refreshing Greek salad, fries, and plenty of gluten-free rolls. It was a great feast for the weather. Should a guest want to up the heat even more, they could always turn to our Sauce Shop spicy sauces, or add to the tang with our smoky and sweet barbecue sauces.
You couldn’t have for much better for a double celebration. Bank holiday, plenty sun, 75 of your friends and family, and Hog Roast Grimsby dining to top it all off – what a weekend for Mandy and co!
