Working at this time of year is always great fun I love the cold crisp bright mornings. We had a hog roast in Cleethorpes to do at the weekend for a 60th birthday party at the Beach restaurant on North Promenade. It was only a small party with just 30 guests and the chap whose birthday it was really wanted a hog roast so we where his birthday surprise. They wanted to eat at 6pm so we had quite a leisurely start to the day and it was a lovely crisp winters day. We headed off down town Cleethorpes which is not very far from our base in Grimsby so it was a nice quick drive down and then out with the hog machine and get cooking. With it being winter they had opted to have roast winter vegetables as an accompaniment which is also one of my favourites the tastes and textures really compliment the hog roast. I spent a lovely afternoon watching people walk their dogs on the beach whilst the hog slowly cooked away. This was hog roast Cleethorpes heaven. At 5pm the guests arrived and then soon after the birthday boy it made hi day to see us all set up waiting for him. The food went down a treat and I hope to see everyone again soon at the next big celebration.
