As Hog Roast Spilsby, we have become quite spoiled over the last few years in striking up a good working relationship with the fine folks over the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre. This beautiful museum and runway regularly hosts events for the community in Lincolnshire and any aviation fans around the country, and as you may well now, events for community of course need good catering. That is where Hog Roast Spilsby comes in.
With the excellent Props and Pistons event held on this bank holiday Monday, the Hog Roast Spilsby team were invited back once more to bring our hog roast lunch to their exceptional aircraft showcase. In this job we have seen a lot of amazing things, but few have wowed our whole team quite like the sight of a genuine war-era Lancaster Bomber taxiing down a runway mere feet in front of us. The Props and Pistons event was an unbelievable day out with all kinds of displays from various historic flying machines. Spitfires, Hurricanes, even car showcases and plane tours – it was a must see for any flight fan.
In amongst all that, the Hog Roast Spilsby team were also serving up fresh hog roast rolls, BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls and wraps, and grilled veg and halloumi skewers with fresh coleslaw and mixed salad. Admittedly, even we had to work hard to snap our attention away from the displays and keep the rolls coming – although it wasn’t too much of an issue as anytime a plane hit the runway everyone else was equally entranced.
The day was so brilliantly run by the Heritage Centre team too. We had a great space to serve and catch the show, guests were well cared for, and even a few minor adjustments to scheduling for the weather couldn’t spoil the day for even a second. An incredible day out. It’s one that our team won’t be forgetting anytime soon, and so we would just like to thank everyone involved for choosing Hog Roast Spilsby once more for your events.
