When we said we couldn’t wait for summer to begin, not even we quite envisioned the scorching temperatures that would come with that. It feels like most weeks in June have been beset by record breaking temperature after record breaking temperature. Difficult to manage through the regular working week and for the morning commute, but come the weekend it is certainly welcomed as it just provided the perfect excuse for barbecues, beaches, and garden parties galore.
As a summer caterer and roast meat specialist, that is certainly fine by us at Hog Roast Bishop Norton!
Joining us to close out the month of heatwaves and record temps, we had an excellent customer here in Bishop Norton who set up a brilliant garden party at the Norton Sandhayes Farmhouse. Knowing that any garden party is only as good as the refreshments on offer at one, the party host came to head chef Rob and the Hog Roast Bishop Norton team to take care of everything in the catering department.
With such high temperatures, we knew that our job would be both to provide refreshment to guests, and to try and keep them cool and comfortable. There are a tonne of safety standards that Hog Roast Bishop Norton holds all of tis events too, and intensive weather is one that we take absolutely seriously. A garden party is good fun, but the safety of guests has to be paramount in our service. To that end, our dining is kept well shaded throughout; the Hog Roast Bishop Norton team set up our serving tent to keep foods, staff, and customers covered during service. Our hog roasts are served fresh and hot, but we don’t want them getting so hot they come spoiled!
Thankfully, this is an event that went off without a hitch. Instead, it was just 70 guests and the Hog Roast Bishop Norton team basking in the glorious weather with a spot of delicious hog roast dining to add to the already perfect day. Our thanks go to the hosts for choosing Hog Roast Bishop Norton and to every guest for being so gracious with us, even in the heat!
