Christenings mark a significant religious rite of passage, symbolising a baby’s introduction to the Church. But beyond the sacred ceremony, they serve as a heartwarming excuse for friends and family to come together and celebrate the arrival of a new member.
While these occasions create cherished memories, the journey to organise a Christening is not without its challenges. For new parents juggling numerous responsibilities, including choosing a parish, selecting music and readings, finding a photographer, and even deciding on godparents, the process can be overwhelming. Among these considerations, catering emerges as one of the most crucial and complex elements of any event.
Introducing Hog Roast Coningsby, where we aim to simplify the process for our customers. With a commitment to providing a smooth and tailored service, our catering manager, Rob, recently demonstrated his expertise at Nina and Jamie’s daughter Delilah’s christening.
Nina and Jamie, like many new parents, were faced with a myriad of tasks ahead of the big day, but they were grateful to have the food, one of the biggest challenges, taken care of by our dedicated catering team.
Rob and his crew arrived at the event hall early, diligently preparing for the celebration. Their hard work paid off, and when the couple arrived at 3 pm, they were greeted with a stunning spread that exceeded their expectations.
At the heart of each dining table, Hog Roast Coningsby had arranged charcuterie boards featuring a vibrant selection of Italian cold cut meats and cheeses, complemented by artisanal breads and dressings.
For the main course, a traditional hog roast stood front and centre, complete with sage and onion stuffing, crackling, and applesauce, delighting the 60 meat-eating guests. Meanwhile, the 12 non-meat-eaters were treated to our flavourful grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers with flatbreads and a zesty tzatziki dip.
The banquet continued with a delectable array of sides, including heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, seasonal leaves, coleslaw, and buttered new potatoes. The meal reached its sweet conclusion with handmade individual cheesecakes and profiteroles drenched in a rich chocolate sauce, earning praise from all in attendance.
Hog Roast Coningsby is thrilled to have played a part in this joyous event, providing not only a delicious feast, but also easing the burden for new parents Nina and Jamie.
Our commitment to a smooth and simple catering service ensures that families can focus on creating cherished memories during these special celebrations. So, if you’ve got a Christening to plan, why not give Hog Roast Coningsby a call?
