With the changing of the seasons comes a need for a different speed of dining. The summer is of course all about the barbecue, so what might autumn be all about? Roasts would of course be the natural answer, especially for a team quite literally called Hog Roast Splisby. They are, after all, a style of dining that is all about comfort which is what autumn is all about. As the leaves fall and brown, we all want that cosiness that comes with a good hearty soup, a nice meaty or veggie pie, or a crisp and tender roast.
So we’re all settled on the roast as the dish of the season this autumn, then. That is perfectly fine by us, but at Hog Roast Splisby we are going to put one of our slight trademark twists on our choice. You might well expect us to favour our signature hog roast for the autumn, but instead we want to promote the smoky and spicy brilliance of our Southern Slow Roast menu.
The Southern Slow Roast menu is a menu right out of the American southern states. Here, their roasts favour far more smoky barbecue and hot and spicy flavours. It goes with the ‘cookout’ style of dining favoured in the southern styles, as you spend an entire day outside slow grilling ribs, or cooking your long-aged brisket. The spice and smokiness intensifies with the slow cooking time, making it a sizzler in the end, but one that is absolutely delicious. The meat of your ribs, for example, comes falling off the bone with juicy tenderness and a nice chargrilling right along the skin for added texture.
The Hog Roast Splisby Southern Slow Roast menu is going to go great for your autumn events. It’s got the comfort of a roast with an added wow factor. You can be enjoying our 24-hour Texas style beef brisket, our Cajun spiced whole roast chickens, our Louisiana sticky pork ribs, or a pulled quarter of minted lamb. The Southern Slow Roast is not complete without your classic American sides, though. The all-American mac and cheese is a staple of any southern roast, along with creamy potato mash, corn cobettes, and a healthy helping of fries, roast potatoes, Memphis style slaw, and a mix of salads and roasted veggies. It will spice up and bring comforting dining your autumn events in equal measure!
